It is via the Japanese publisher Overlap that we discover, this Sunday, the announcement of an anime adaptation for the light novel Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha (The Unwanted Undead Adventurer).

This anime is adapted from the eponymous light novel, written by Yu Okano and illustrated by Jaian, published since October 2017 in Japan by the publisher Overlap. The title notably knows a manga adaptation by Haiji Nakasone, pre-published since November 2017 in the Comic Gardo magazine of the same publisher. In France, the manga is published by Meian.

Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha Anime Synopsis
Lent Faina has been a low-level adventurer for a good decade. Not exactly talented, his skills are just enough to take down slimes, goblins and other particularly weak creatures.
During a very ordinary quest, the man goes to the Dungeon of the Water Moon, in the hope of gaining experience there by eliminating some monsters and to collect Resource.
However, what awaits him in the heart of the dungeon is quite different: a powerful legendary dragon, a terrible creature that has no place in his place, appears in front of him and devours him raw in the space of an instant.
Only shortly after, Lent wakes up to find that he is not quite dead...nor quite alive. Indeed, he seems to have transformed into a kind of animated skeleton and now benefits from a skill normally reserved for monsters: “substantial evolution”.
Thanks to the latter, he hopes to be able to become human again one day, and embarks on a great epic to achieve it!
